President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan has signed amendments to the law regarding radiation safety, enhancing government control over the use, storage, and transportation of radioactive materials. The changes specify the responsibilities of state bodies in preventing and responding to radiation accidents and mandate public information regarding radiation levels. Additionally, radiological control at state borders will be reinforced, and emergency response agencies will gain new powers for public protection during incidents. The law will take effect ten days after its official publication.
